Another nun doll from the Saint Mary in the woods collection.

This is a Franciscan sister of the Sacred Heart. I recently purchased this doll and three others from a woman in the United States who was lucky enought to have acquired them from the large collection of nun dolls at Saint Mary of the woods college. I would love to know the history behind that collection. Maybe I should write to their archivist.....

This doll is dress as a Sister of the Holy Cross. Note the beautiful fluted bonnet so distinctive of this congregation.

I received this doll as an ordination present. It is a small wax doll representing a Poor Clare nun in her room sewing a priest's stole. On the wall there is a pictures of Our Lady of Lourdes among others. The detail on this little shadow box is amazing. Fr. François
